Podcast episode

A podcast episode is an audio file, typically an interview or lecture, associated with a podcast. This topic describes how to create a podcast episode.

tip

Prepare the following before you start creating an episode:

  • Create the podcast to which the episode belongs. For details, see Creating a podcast.
  • Create and upload the podcast's audio file. For details, see Audio file.
  • If necessary, create and upload image you will use as the episode's cover art. For details, see Image.

Creating podcast episodes

To create a podcast episode:

  1. In the header, click .
  2. From the Create list, select Podcast Episode.
  3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the podcast episode.
FieldDescription
TitleEnter a title for this asset. This title is visible to the visitors to your site.
DescriptionEnter a description that describes this asset. This description is visible to the visitors to your site.
SlugThis field, by default, is auto-populated by the Topic field, and becomes part of the asset's URL.

Auto-populated slugs are lowercase, have diacritics removed, and any symbols or spaces are replaced with -.

You can modify the URL Slug field if necessary.
Cover Image OverrideClick and select an image. This image is visible to visitors to your site. (Defaults to the podcast's cover art.)
BodyUse the rich-text editor to include text, lists, images, and links to other assets. Text in this field is visible to visitors to your site.

Primary AudioSelect the audio file visitors hear when listening to this episode.
PodcastSelect a podcast. This selection is visible to the visitors to your site.
Episode NumberEnter a number. This text is not visible to the visitors to your site.
Secondary SectionsSelect the secondary sections associated with this asset. This selection is not visible to the visitors to your site.

TagsSelect the tags associated with this asset. This selection is not visible to visitors to your site.

EmbargoSelect a date and time before which you cannot publish the asset, or select Indefinitely to prevent publication indefinitely. (You can move the asset through a workflow, and schedule it for publication any time on or after this date.) This field becomes read-only after you publish the asset.
ContentSelect Add After, Add Before, or Replace to position a module above or below the podcast episode itself, then click . The module you add is visible to visitors to your site.
