Document
This topic explains how to add a document to Brightspot. Documents are effective for guidelines around logos, white papers, or for distributing terms and conditions to your internal audience. These are just examples, and your use cases for these asset types may vary greatly.
You can add the following file types of documents:
- .html
- .docx
- .dotx
- .odt
- .openxml
- .psd
- .pages
- .txt
- .rtf
Whether or not a file renders on your site depends ultimately on the browser and browser version that the user has. If running into trouble, Brightspot suggests converting the file to one of the types listed above.
For a wire frame example of what this content type can look like on your site, see a Document design.
Before beginning these steps, make sure you save the text document on the drive you are working from, or obtain its URL from the internet.
To add a document:
- In the header, click .
- From the Create list, select Document.
- Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
- Complete your site's workflow and publish the document.
After you publish your document, you can create a promo module or list module that contains it for use on landing pages such as pages and sections. You can also embed these modules into the rich-text editor. For details, see Embedding modules.
