Presentation

This topic explains how to add a presentation to Brightspot. Presentations are effective for making annual reports available for distribution to employees, or to share slides from past webinars. These are just examples, and your use cases for presentations may vary greatly.

You can add the following file types of presentations:

• .key
• .pptx
• .potx
• .odp

Note

Whether or not a file renders on your site depends ultimately on the browser and browser version that the user has. If running into trouble, Brightspot suggests converting the file to one of the types listed above.

Creating presentations

To add a presentation:

1. In the header, click .
2. From the Create list, select Presentation.
3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the presentation.

After you publish your presentation, you can use it in assets such as pages and sections. You can also add presentations to text you compose in the rich-text editor.

Main

Field	Description
File	Do one of the following: To upload a presentation from your computer, select New Upload. Click Choose and navigate to the presentation. To link to a presentation on the Internet, select New URL and paste the presentation's link.
Title	Enter a title for this asset. This title is visible to the visitors to your site.
Internal Name	Enter an internal name for this asset. Brightspot uses this name internally, such as in the search panel and recent activity widget. This name is not visible to visitors to your site.
Description	Enter a description that describes this asset. This description is visible to the visitors to your site.
Date Uploaded	Date indicating when you uploaded this asset's file.
Attachment File Mime Type	The MIME type of the asset.
Source	Enter the source of the asset.
Tags	Select the tags associated with this asset.

Asset Access Management

Field	Description
Expiration Date	Set the date and time when this asset expires.
Discoverable After Expiration	Toggle on to allow users to still access this asset after expiration.
Downloadable After Expiration	Toggle on to allow users to still download this asset after expiration.
License Type	Select an existing license type for this asset, or create a new one.

Promo Overrides

Field	Description
Promo Title	Enter text to override this asset's title when used in a promo. Brightspot automatically populates this field from data on the Main tab, and you can override this as needed by entering a new title.
Promo Description	Enter text to override this asset's description when used in a promo. Brightspot automatically populates this field from data on the Main tab, and you can override this as needed by entering a new description.
Promo Image	Image appearing in the asset's image when the asset is used as a promo. Brightspot automatically populates this field from data on the Main tab, and you can override this as needed by selecting a new image.
Promo File Size	Asset's file size as displayed in its promo.
Promo File Type	Asset's file type as displayed in its promo.

Thumbnail	Thumbnail image for this asset.
