Taboola

You can configure the Taboola integration at the global or site levels in order to promote ads on your site.

Configuration​

To configure the Taboola integration:

  1. Click > Admin > Sites & Settings.
  2. In the Sites widget, select the site for which you want to enable this feature, or select Global to enable this feature for all sites.
  3. From the Integrations tab, expand the Taboola Settings cluster.
  4. From the Settings list, select Set.
  5. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  6. Click Save.
FieldDescription
Publisher IDEnter your publisher ID provided by Taboola.
Standard ModesEnter the modes provided by Taboola.
Standard Target TypesEnter the target types provided by Taboola.
Type OverridesClick to add a Taboola type override, then do the following:
  1. Under Content Type, select the content types to which you want to apply a type override.
  2. Under Taboola Type, enter the Taboola content type to which you want to apply a type override. Available types are video, article, photo, category, and home.
DisabledToggle on to disable the Taboola integration.

Configuring Taboola recommendation modules​

Once the Taboola integration has been added to your site, you can create and display Taboola recommendation modules.

To configure a Taboola recommendation module:

  1. Click > Ads.
  2. From the Create menu in the bottom left corner of the screen, select Taboola Recommendation Module, then click New.
  3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  4. Click Save.
FieldDescription
NameEnter an internal name for this asset. Brightspot uses this name internally, such as in the search panel and recent activity widget. This name is not visible to visitors to your site.
PlacementEnter the placement value provided by Taboola (for example, Right Rail Thumbnails).
SlotEnter a value to override the slot name for this ad. If you do not enter an override, Brightspot automatically generates it by appending the value entered into the Placement field to taboola-. For example, if you enter aside into the Placement field, the Slot field will automatically display taboola-aside.
ModeEnter the mode value provided by Taboola (for example, thumbnails-rr).
Target TypeEnter the target type provided by Taboola (for example, mix).
