Callout module

Callouts allow you to highlight specific text that stands out from the rest of the information displayed in a topic. You can add four types of callouts to your topic:

  • Tip—Provides a suggestion or recommendation to visitors.
  • Note—Provides an important piece of information to visitors.
  • Important—Provides an indication that visitors should be cautious.
  • Warning—Provides an urgent warning to visitors.

Creating callout modules

To create a callout module:

  1. In the header, click .
  2. From the Create list, under Misc Content Types, select Callout Module.
  3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the asset.
FieldDescription
Internal NameEnter an internal name for this asset. Brightspot uses this name internally, such as in the search panel and recent activity widget. This name is not visible to visitors to your site.
TypeSelect one of the available types: Tip, Note, Caution, or Warning. renders each type differently on the front end.
BodyUse the rich-text editor to include text, lists, images, and links to other assets. Text in this field is visible to visitors to your site.

Embedding callout modules

To embed a callout:

  1. From the rich-text editor's toolbar, select > Callout.
  2. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  3. Click Save & Close.

TypeSelect the type of callout (Tip, Note, Important, Warning).

Color SchemeSelect the color scheme to use for this page.
  • Standard—Use the text color specified in the site's theme.
  • Inverse—Use the inverse of the text color specified in the site's theme.
Choose Enhancement AlignmentSelect an alignment for this list.
