JW Player

Brightspot's JW Player integration lets you search and import videos from a JW Player account into federated search, and can incrementally import new and updated videos on a schedule.

Configuring the integration

JW Player accounts are configured per site, and a site can have more than one account.

To configure a JW Player account:

  1. From the left navigation, under Admin, click Sites & Settings.
  2. From the Integrations tab, expand the JW Player cluster.
  3. Under Settings, add an account, and complete the following fields:
    1. In the Internal Name field, type a name to identify this account in selection fields.
    2. In the Client Secret field, type the client secret from your JW Player account's v2 API Credentials page (under the Settings gear).
    3. In the Site Id field, type the property ID from your JW Player account's Properties page (under the Settings gear).
    4. (Optional) In the Player Id field, type the ID of a player configured on your JW Player dashboard. This player is also used for preview unless a separate preview player is set.
  4. Click Save.

Configuring scheduled import

To configure scheduled import for a JW Player account:

  1. Open the JW Player account, and toggle on the Import Enabled setting.
  2. (Optional) Toggle on the Full Import Enabled setting to re-ingest every video on each run instead of only videos modified since the last run.
  3. Under Import User, select the Brightspot user to attribute import actions to.
  4. Click Save.
note

Scheduled import also requires a task host to be configured in Global Settings. If none is configured, the import task never runs. A Global Import Frequency setting, under the Global site's Integrations tab in the JW Player cluster, controls how often the import task runs (in minutes) across all accounts.
