Dropbox

Brightspot's Dropbox integration lets you search and import files from a linked Dropbox account into federated search.

Configuring the integration

To configure the Dropbox integration:

1. From the left navigation, under Admin, click Sites & Settings, then select the Global site.
2. From the Integrations tab, expand the Dropbox cluster.
3. In the Application Key field, type the application key from the Dropbox Developer Console.
4. In the Application Secret field, type the application secret from the Dropbox Developer Console.
5. Click Save.

Brightspot displays the redirect URI to add in the Dropbox Developer Console (in the form https://your-host/dropboxAuth) next to the Application Secret field.

Linking your account

Dropbox imports files on behalf of the signed-in editor rather than a shared service account. If you have not linked your Dropbox account, the search results panel shows a "Click here to authenticate Dropbox" prompt instead of a search field.

To link your Dropbox account:

1. Open the search panel for Dropbox.
2. Click the authentication link ("Click here to authenticate Dropbox" the first time, or Link another account to add an additional account).
3. Sign in to Dropbox and approve the requested permissions.

After you approve access, Brightspot returns you to the search panel and Dropbox is ready to search.
