Person Promo module

Editors use Brightspot's Person content type to provide basic information about significant people. Examples of persons include company employees, journalists, academics, and government officials.

The Person content type has its own promo, extracted from the person itself. For example, if you create a person asset for your company's product manager, you can create a promo for that person. You can encourage visitors to read and contact the person with media or sales inquiries.

This topic describes how to create a shared person promo that you can use in multiple assets. (If you want to create a one-off person promo, see Creating a one-off module.)

To create a person promo:

1. In the header, click .
2. From the Create list, select Person Promo.
3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the person promo.

Main

Field	Description
Internal Name	Enter an internal name for this asset. Brightspot uses this name internally, such as in the search panel and recent activity widget. This name is not visible to visitors to your site.
Item	Select Internal, indicating the promo links to a person in Brightspot.
Item	Select a person.
Target	Select how a visitor views the person: Same Window/Tab—When a visitor clicks on the person promo, the person appears in the same browser window or tab. New Window/Tab—When a visitor clicks on the person promo, the person appears in a new browser window or tab.
Name	This field defaults to the person's Name. This name is visible to visitors to your site. You can modify the Name if necessary.
Description	This field defaults first to the person's Short Biography (if available), and next to the person's Full Biography. This description is visible to visitors to your site. You can modify the Description if necessary.
Job Title	This field defaults to the person's Title (if available). This job title is visible to visitors to your site. You can modify the Job Title if necessary.
Image	This field defaults to the person's Image (if any). This image is visible to visitors to your site. You can select a different image if necessary.
Publication	Not used.
Call To Action Button Text	Enter text appearing on the call-to-action button. This text is visible to the visitors to your site.

Overrides

Field	Description
Anchor	Modify the anchor to something that would make sense when appearing in an Anchor field's drop-down menu on another asset. This allows you to directly link to this module in another asset. Being specific makes it easier to identify in a list of other anchors.

Field	Description
Hide Biography	Toggle on to hide the Short Biography information for the individual included on the list.
Hide Job Title	Toggle on to suppress the display of the job title of the individual included in the list module.
Hide Image	Toggle on to hide the image included on the asset contained in the module.

Person Promo Module Styles

Field	Description
Template	Select the template of this module from the list of options. Templates are visual presentation presets that differ depending on the type of module.
Preset	Select one of the following: None—Applies styling from the site's theme. Custom—Opens a form to customize the site's theme for this asset. (Various)—Aside from None or Custom, there may be additional options in this list depending on the value selected in the Template field. If the selected template has presets, then those presets are able to be selected in this list and applied. For information about configuring template presets, see Creating a template preset.
Promo Title Size	Overrides the default text size of the promo title as specified in your theme's CSS file.
Promo Description Size	Overrides the default text size of the promo description as specified in your theme's CSS file.
Choose a Background Color	Enter the hexadecimal value of a background color for this module. For instance, entering #000888 provides a dark blue background.
Change Primary Text Color to Primary Inverse Text Color (Set in Theme Colors)	Toggle on to convert the primary color of the text in the module to the inverse color of the text set in the theme.
Animate this module on scroll	Toggle on to provide a small animation to this module when it is scrolled into view.
Item Image Aspect Ratio	Overrides the default size and shape of the image next to the items in the asset as specified in your theme's CSS file.

Translations

Field	Description
Locale	Sets the content's locale. This setting can also be used to auto-localize content based on the users requested locale.
