Managing Ops Desk users

This section describes how to create, edit, and view a user account.

Creating Ops Desk users

A user account captures basic user name and contact information, an optional LDAP account name, the role to which the user is assigned, as well as any permissions not associated with the role.

Procedure. To create a user account:
  1. In the left panel, click |mi-settings|.

  2. Click Users. The Users widget appears.

  3. In the widget's upper-right corner, click |mi-add|. The New User widget appears.

  4. In the Information widget, enter the user's name and contact information. The name appears in various widgets throughout Ops Desk.

  5. In the User Status widget, do one of the following:

    • Toggle on Disabled to activate the user's account.

    • Toggle off Disabled to deactivate the user's account.

  6. Under Roles, click |mi-add_circle_outline|, and select one of the available roles. Repeat to associate the user with additional roles.

  7. Under Custom Roles, define a one-off role for the user. For information about creating a role, see Creating Ops Desk roles.

  8. Click Save.

Editing Ops Desk users
Procedure. To edit a user account:
  1. In the left panel, click |mi-settings|.

  2. Click Users. The Users widget appears.

  3. Filter the listing; for details, see Filtering a widget.

  4. Click the user account you want to edit.

  5. In the Information widget, enter the user's name and contact information. The name appears in various widgets throughout Ops Desk.

  6. In the User Status widget, do one of the following:

    • Toggle on Disabled to activate the user's account.

    • Toggle off Disabled to deactivate the user's account.

  7. Under Roles, click |mi-add_circle_outline|, and select one of the available roles. Repeat to associate the user with additional roles.

  8. Under Custom Roles, define a one-off role for the user. For information about creating a role, see Creating Ops Desk roles.

  9. Click Save.

Viewing Ops Desk users
Procedure. To view a user account:
