Shared modules appear in more than one page layout. This is a powerful way to reuse modules: you can create one of the other modules described in this section, and then you can incorporate it into as many page layouts as possible.

Creating a shared module

You create shared modules from your dashboard's Quick Start widget. Follow the procedure described in Creating any type of content. In step 2, select Module.

Using shared modules
Procedure. To use a shared module:
  1. In the content edit page, open or create the item to which you want to add a shared module.

  2. Toward the right of the widget, select |mi-more_horiz| > Overrides. The Overrides widget appears.

  3. Expand Layout Overrides. Drop-down lists Above, Aside, and Below appear for the module's position. For an illustration of these positions, see the diagram Examples of module placement.

  4. From one of the drop-down lists, select Replace. For an explanation of the possible selections for module placement, see Setting the site layout.

  5. Click |mi-add_circle_outline|, and select Shared. A form appears.

  6. In the Module field, click the selection field. The search panel appears.

  7. In the search panel, search for an existing module or create a new one.

  8. Close the search panel. Your Shared form looks similar to the following:
