Support and Documentation

A section is a collection of similar items on a site. The landing page for a section typically lists some of the many items in a section, such as the most popular or most recent.

Referring to the previous illustration, there are three elements in the section's landing page:

  • The section's display name (Food Trends).

  • A lead sentence.

  • A list of promoted items.

At the enterprise level, sections often have navigation that help a visitor discover more content in the section.

Procedure. To create a section:
  1. In the header, click |mi-add|.

  2. From the Create list, select Section. A content edit page appears.

  3. Enter text for Display Name (the name that appears in the published site) and optionally Internal Name (the name that appears throughout Brightspot).

  4. Toggle on Hide Display Name if you do not want the Display Name to appear on the published site.

  5. In the Description field, use the rich-text editor to enter text.

  6. If you are creating a subsection, from the Parent selection field, select a page or section under which this subsection appears in your published site.

  7. Create a navigation to items associated with the section. For details, see Navigation.

  8. Under Lead, click |mi-add_circle_outline| to select one of the available components.

  9. Under Contents, click |mi-add_circle_outline| to select one or more of the available modules. (For information about creating styled modules you can apply to multiple assets, see Reusing module styles with style groups.)

  10. Complete your site's workflow and publish the section.
