Creating a custom content edit form

Brightspot's standard content edit form for articles has many tabs and fields. In this tutorial, you create a custom content edit form for articles that as only one tab with fields for headline and body.

  1. From the Navigation Menu, expand Admin, and select Users & Roles..

  2. In the Content Forms widget, select Article, and then click New. The New Content Form widget appears.

  3. In the Name field, type Abbreviated Article.

  4. From Scope, select Global. This setting implies the custom content edit form is the default for all articles.

  5. From the Accesses list, select Write. This setting implies editors can modify text in all of the custom form's fields.

  6. Except for Tab: Main, drag all items under Visible Items to Hidden Items.

  7. Expand Tab: Main.

  8. Except for Field: Headline and Field: Body, drag all fields to Hidden Items.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Return to the dashboard. The Quick Start widget shows Abbreviated Article instead of Article. Clicking Abbreviated Article displays the custom content edit form.
