How to add a theme style

Style packages introduce a styling layer on a front-end bundle using built-in or uploaded CSS and JavaScript files. Style packages give users exponentially more ways to customize their themes beyond using Brightspot's back-end theme user interface.

  1. From the Navigation Menu, select Admin > Themes.

  2. Under Style, do the following:

  3. Under Built-In, include files from a built-in style package, if one exists. See How to create a built-in style package.

  4. Under Custom Upload, upload a .zip file with custom CSS, JavaScript, and _config.json in the root directory in the necessary format. See How to create a custom upload style package.

  5. Under Built-In CSS, choose one of the following:

    1. Always Include: The built-in CSS is always included.

    2. Include If Missing from Upload: The built-in CSS is included if there is no CSS in the Custom Upload.

    3. Ignore: The built-in CSS is ignored.

  6. Under Built-In JS, choose one of the following:

    1. Always Include: The built-in JavaScript is always included.

    2. Include If Missing from Upload: The built-in JavaScript is included if there is no Javascript in the Custom Upload.

    3. Ignore: The built-in JavaScript is ignored.

  7. Click Save.
