Promos

This how-to guide explains how to build promo modules.

How to make a promo module
  1. In the header, click in the search field. The search panel appears.

  2. From the Create list, select a content type (such as Article).

  3. Toward the right of the content edit form, select |mi-more_horiz|> Overrides.

  4. Expand Layout Overrides.

  5. From the Above, Aside, or Below list, select one of the following:

    • Add After—Inherits the block's modules from the parent level and adds a promo under them.

    • Add Before—Inherits the block's modules from the parent level and adds a promo above them.

    • Replace—Replaces the block's modules inherited from the parent level with a promo.

  6. Click |mi-add_circle_outline|, and select Page Promo. Promo module styles appear.

  7. Select a template for the promo module. A form appears.

  8. (Optional) Apply overrides to the promo module. See How to apply promo overrides.

  9. (Optional) Apply styles to the promo module. See How to apply promo styles.

  10. From the Item list, select one of the following:

    • No Link—No link is associated with the promo.

    • External—The promo's link points to a URL on an external site.

    • Internal—The promo's link points to an item on your site.

  11. In the Title field, enter the promo's title.

  12. In the Description field, enter the promo's description.

  13. To add a shared image override for the promo, do the following (otherwise, proceed to step 14):

    1. In the Image Override field, click |mi-search|. A content picker appears.

    2. Select an image or create a new one. You return to the content edit form.

  14. Complete your site's workflow and publish the item.

How to apply promo overrides
  1. From the promo edit form, click |mi-more_horiz|. A menu appears.

  2. Select Overrides. A field appears.

  3. Under Category, enter a category to replace the default category of the promo.

  4. Click |mi-more_horiz| and return to the Main tab.

How to apply promo styles
  1. From the promo edit form, click |mi-more_horiz|. A menu appears.

  2. Select Styles. A field appears.

  3. Apply the following styles:

    1. Hide Author—hides the author name.

    2. Hide Category—hides the category name.

    3. Hide Date—hides the publish date.

    4. Hide Description—hides the description.

    5. Template—applies existing template to the module.

    6. Image Position Vertical—positions the image at the top or the bottom of the module.

  4. Click |mi-more_horiz| and return to the Main tab.
