Vimeo Video

The Vimeo plugins enable federated searches of Vimeo videos directly from the Brightspot search panel. External content retrieved from a third-party repository can optionally be imported into Brightspot and used as any other asset. For more information, see Federated search and import.

There are two Vimeo plugins, a feature plugin and a content plugin. The feature plugin is required, as it provides federated searches of Vimeo images. These resources are retrieved in an external data type format, and can only be viewed in Brightspot as read only. If you want the capability to import Vimeo resources into Brightspot, the Vimeo content plugin must also be enabled.

The Vimeo plugins require the following:

  • Vimeo enterprise account, allowing any editor to retrieve Vimeo videos.
  • Client ID and Client Secret to configure the Vimeo feature plugin. To find these values, go to your Vimeo My Apps page and select your application.

Configuring Vimeo

Administrators perform this task.

If your version of Brightspot is missing any of the following configuration options, contact your Brightspot developer.

To configure Vimeo Video:

  1. From the Navigation menu, select Admin > Sites & Settings.

  2. In the Sites widget, click Global. The Edit Global widget appears.

  3. Under Main, under Vimeo, set Client ID and Client Secret.

  4. (Optional) Set Number of Videos to Load Each Request. This determines the number of videos to retrieve for each search.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Verify the plugin is enabled. In the search panel, in the Create widget, ensure you can select Vimeo Video.
