Configuring the Users plugin

Administrators perform this task.

The Users plugin includes a comprehensive set of settings you can configure for authenticating a login, profile pages, and designing a registration workflow. All the settings in this procedure are optional.

If your version of Brightspot is missing any of the following configuration options, contact your Brightspot developer.

To configure the Users plugin:

  1. From the Navigation menu, select Admin > Sites & Settings.

  2. In the Sites widget, select the site for which you want to configure authentication settings, or select Global to configure authentication settings for all sites.

  3. Under Front-End, expand Authentication.

  4. From the Authentication Settings drop-down list, select Set. A form appears.

  6. Create user private and public profile pages; for details, see Profile pages.

  7. Using the table Registration settings—workflow as a reference, under Registration Settings, design the workflow for ingesting, approving, and rejecting new account requests. For an explanation of the various workflows, see Scenarios for approving registrations.

  8. In the Terms and Conditions field, enter your site’s terms and conditions with which the user must comply.

  9. Under Forgot/Reset Password Flow, create a workflow for recovering or resetting a user’s password:

    1. In the Reset Password Email From Address field, enter the “From” address users see in the email containing the password reset link, such as admin@mysite.com.
    2. In the Reset Password Email Subject, enter text appearing in the reset email’s subject line.
    3. In the Reset Password Email Body, enter text appearing in the reset email’s body.
  10. Click Save.

Configuring the Users plugin is complete.
