Working with Audiences

Administrators perform these tasks.

An audience is a group of visitors to your Brightspot site. You can differentiate users by the following target characteristics that come with the Personalization plugin:

  • Type of content.
  • Day of week content is published.
  • Type of device.

If you need to differentiate users by other target characteristics, see Adding Targets.

Creating Audiences

  1. Select Menu > Admin > Audiences. The Audiences widget appears. (If you don’t see Audiences, ask your developer to install the Personalization plugin.)

  2. Click New. The New Audience widget appears.

  3. In the Name field, enter a name for the audience.

  4. From the Content Type Group list, select the type of content the audience receives.

  5. Under Targets, do the following:

    1. Click Add Day Of Week Target; from the Days list, select the days on which the content will be published.
    2. Click Add Device Target; from the Device Target list, select the device types to which the content will be delivered.
  6. Repeat step 4 to add additional target days and devices as required.

  7. Click Save.

Modifying Audiences

  1. Select Menu > Admin > Audiences. The Audiences widget appears.
  2. Click the audience you want to modify. The Edit Audience widget appears.
  3. Modify the settings as required.
  4. Click Save.

Deleting Audiences

  1. Select Menu > Admin > Audiences. The Audiences widget appears.
  2. Click the audience you want to delete. The Edit Audience widget appears.
  3. Click Archive.
