Setting an Embargo

Editors perform this task.

You can place a news embargo on an article to publish it at a date later than when it is created.

  1. In the header, click in the search field. The search panel appears.

  2. In the Create drop-down list, select Article, then select New.

    The Content Edit form appears.

  3. Set the applicable fields.

  4. Click Embargo, and select to hold publication indefinitely or until a specified date.

  5. In the Editorial toolbar, click Publish.

In the Revisions widget widget, the status of the article shows as Embargo, indicating that it is not exposed on any sites.

If you set the article to an indefinite embargo, you can release it for publication by setting the Embargo field to None.
