With the Instagram plugin, you can include Instagram posts in your own assets.

Configuring Instagram

Administrators perform this task.

  1. From the Navigation Menu, select Admin > Sites & Settings.

  2. In the Sites widget, select the Global site. Global settings can be inherited by all other sites. For details, see Enabling and Disabling Plugins.

  3. Under Plugins, scroll to “Feature Plugins” and enable Brightspot: Instagram: Core.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Verify the configuration is successful by doing the following:

    1. Create a new item that contains the rich-text editor, such as an article.

    2. Verify the rich-text editor’s toolbar includes an Instagram button.

Including an Instagram Post in Your Content

You can include an instagram post by referring to its URL or by using its Instagram embed code.

Editors perform this task.

You can include Instagram posts in your content.

  1. In a web browser, log in to Instagram and identify the post you want to include in your item.

  2. If you want to use the Instagram URL in your item, copy the post’s URL into a text editor. Proceed to step 4.

  3. Retrieve the Instagram embedding code by doing the following:

    1. In the Instagram post, click . A widget appears.
    2. In the widget, click Embed. Another widget appears.
    3. Click Copy Embed Code.
    4. Paste the embed code into a text editor.
  4. In Brightspot, open or create an item that includes a rich-text editor, such as an article.

  5. In the rich-text editor, place the cursor in an empty paragraph.

  6. In the rich-text editor’s toolbar, click Instagram (see illustration Rich-text editor with Instagram toolbar button). An Edit Instagram widget appears.

  7. From the Instagram Post list, select one of the following:

    • URL—If you copied the Instagram URL in step 2.
    • Instagram Embed—If you copied the Instagram embed code in step 3.
  8. In the next field, paste the URL or embed code you copied.

  9. Click Save & Close. You return to the content edit form. Brightspot ingests the Instagram post and displays a preview in the rich-text editor.

  10. Compose the rest of your item, then click Publish.
