The Box plugins enable federated searches of Box resources directly from the Brightspot search panel. External content retrieved from a third-party repository can optionally be imported into Brightspot and used as any other asset. For more information, see the federated search and import procedure.

Note that there are two Box plugins, a feature plugin and a content plugin. The feature plugin is required, as it provides federated searches of Box resources. These resources are retrieved in an external data type format, and can only be viewed in Brightspot as read only. If you want the capability to import external Box resources into Brightspot, the Box content plugin must also be enabled.

The Box plugins require the following:

  • Box enterprise account, allowing for any Brightspot user to retrieve Box resources.

  • Client ID and Client Secret to configure the Box feature plugin. Using the Box Developer Console, you can find these values on the Configuration page for your application.

If you have not yet created your application in Box, note that you must specify the following redirect URI in the OAuth 2 configuration: https://<brightspotDomain>/boxAuth.
