Promos

A promo is a “teaser” module that encourages a visitor to view the associated item, which increases engagement with your website. Promos typically have some combination of the following components:

  • Headline
  • Body text
  • Image, video, or gallery
  • Link to the promoted page

The following illustration is an example of a promo with four elements: headline, body text, image, and (not visible) a link pointing to the target video.

To create a promo:

  1. In the content edit page, open or create the item to which you want to add a promo.

  2. Under Overrides, expand Module Placement. Drop-down lists Above, Aside, and Below appear for the promo’s position. (For an illustration of these positions, see the diagram Examples of module placement.)

  3. From one of the drop-down lists, select Replace. For an explanation of the possible selections for module placement, see Module Placement.

  4. Click add_circle_outline, and select Promo. A form appears.

  5. From the Item list, select one of the following:

    • External—The promoted item is at a URL external to your Brightspot project.
    • Internal—The promoted item is part of your Brightspot project and uses a standard layout.
    • No Link—The promoted item is part of your Brightspot project and uses a customized layout that you can configure.
